Extended Metaphor Poem

Poetry
is like burning fire
It's hard to start
at first,
but once you get it
started, words burst
out like flames
The sound of dry
timber scorching is
as relaxing as the words
flowing out of a poem
The elegant, luminous tongue
can melt me down, but can
also put me into
a shocking pain
Words crack out of
nowhere as they end
up floating on the air
